Later that afternoon, George witnesses a murder in the woods behind his property and becomes a target for the killers. Desperate to protect his loved ones, George reluctantly accepts an offer from the mysterious Randy to dispel the attackers in the most heinous ways possible. Randy ritualistically kills the gang-leader, opening a window into George’s cannibal past. George laments having involved Randy and starts plotting to remove him. After questioning the ethics behind Randy’s plan to dispose of the gangs’ victim in the woods, Randy snaps and accuses George of having grown apathetic in life and suggests he command more respect from his family. Randy relents to George’s request to dig a grave for the body, but instead buries George after knocking him unconscious. When the family returns, Randy is believed to be George and everyone behaves normally. In an attempt to erase George completely Randy plots against the family and begins by stabbing George’s wife. After a messy campaign to eliminate them, Randy forces his way into an upstairs bedroom where the family seeks refuge to find it empty with evidence of their escape. George reemerges to bring an end to Randy’s rampage, and they engage in a fight that sends both men flying out a window. The family, who had been hiding in the bedroom all along, peeks down from the window to find their family man broken in two.

Set in the Portuguese community of Newark, New Jersey in the 80‘s, this is the story of Celeste, a dreamer and a devout catholic who struggles with her own guilt. She may look normal on the outside, but she has a special gift that lets her see things other people can't. Celeste daydreams about being a hairdresser while coping with her marriage to bakery worker Carlos. She works as a cleaning lady with her friend Marina to make ends meet and also to save money for what may come ahead. Moments with Marina are the complete opposite of being around her husband. They share many laughs and goof off with some plain old girl talk. Marina lives vicariously through Celeste, who is in Marina’s eyes an adventurer. After seeing his own dreams crushed by life’s cruel turns, Carlos has become a bitter man. He struggles to support Celeste by working at an exhausting job he hates. But what is a former soccer player with a debilitating injury to do? While his night shift has virtually destroyed any intimacy that was left in their marriage, it has also given Celeste an opportunity for midnight escapades into the arms of her lover. Celeste knows that her current situation is not sustainable: she must grow up and decide what to do. But when Carlos finds out Celeste is having an affair, she is presented with a number of bad omens. Is Carlos planting these omens or is there a higher power trying to warn her?

After years of playing by the rules and getting nowhere, Thomas Adder is about to make a name for himself overnight. Four years ago as young, ambitious strategist at the forefront of a winning New York City gubernatorial campaign, Thomas believed he was working to elect a man that wanted to change the face of the city he loved. All too soon he realized he was wrong. Following the triumphant campaign for Reese Jennings, Thomas was given a swift pat on the back before being cast aside with knowledge that in the political world you are either working to fight corruption or part of the problem. Thomas chose to leave the team and now, four years later, he will face the newly re-elected Governor, he has come to despise. With renewed vigor, Thomas is the only man that still believes in their original campaign slogan, 'Moving forward to make a difference', and is willing to do whatever it takes to remove the corrupt Governor from office. The problem is, has he grown just as evil as the man he has in his sights to take down?
